Bred down from the 1975 German 1st Ace Pigeon “Elvis”, which was purchased by Raoul Verstaete for a large sum.

This line of birds is simply outstanding and is responsible for hundreds of winners internationally. They are predominantly Blues and Blue Pieds – Great in the hand and awesome up to 850km pure.

The A & L Van De Wegen Introductions came in 1997 and De Zutter has successfully blended long distance birds into his family.I imported in excess of forty of these crosses from De Zutter and went about interbreeding them before selling these original crosses off in South Africa.For example i would like to take a “Dunky” x Van Der Wegen cock and mate this into a “Cent” x Van Der Wegen cross hen – closely related to each other onthe Van Der Wegen side.	These inbred crosses will now only be used to cross back to either De Zutter’s “Cent” and this system has already been used by De Zutter himself with outstanding success.These outstanding Van Der Wegens appear in certian of my “New Generation” of De Zutters from 2000 onwards.
